GrandMother's Special Birthday Present
On March 31st, the day of my birthday, my grandmother was in the hospital with cancer. My Grandmother was always a fighter, and I knew she wouldn't give up. I didn't know she had cancer because I was only 8 years old. My mother was throwing a birthday party for me, and my grandmother was supposed to show up. I was expecting my grandmother to be there and my mother kept telling me ," grandma will be here soon", but she never came. After all of the guests left, I went to my room and started to cry. I was really close to my grandmother and she never missed any of my birthdays.
When I first entered kindergarten, my Mom had to work, therefore my grandmother accompanied me
to class the first day. She made me feel secure and every time I was scared, she would be across the room with a warm smile on her face.
That night I couldn't sleep all night, and kept thinking about my grandmother. It was about 12:00.
I suddenly woke up and there standing by the door was a shadowy figure. It was my grandmother. I was surprised to see her, but at the same time happy. She looked at me and smiled. I noticed my grandmother had a box in her hand. It was my birthday present, She placed it on my small wooden table by the door, than she turned around and looked at me and smiled, than she was gone.
The next morning I woke up and sure enough, there was the box on the table. I ran down stair to tell my Mom, I noticed my mother's face was all pale, and she tightly hugged me. She told me my grandmother passed away around 11:00 that night. I didn't believe her and showed her the present my grandmother brought me that night. My mother was surprised, I opened the present and inside it was a card telling me how sorry she was, that she couldn't attend my party. There was a picture of my grandmother and me together, and on the back it said ,"I love you, and through your worst and best times, I will
Still with tears in her eyes she turned to me and said, " Grandma loves you very , very much."
Call from Uncle Tyler
THIS summer my dad and brothers had to clean up my favorite uncle's apartment in Crisfield Maryland. You see he had passed and we needed to get most of the things packed up and ready for pickup or the apartment complex would do it.
We had clean up and packed almost everything and we all felt pretty good that so much stuff had been done in just two Saturdays. We were taking a break when the phone rang at least twice before my older brother pick the phone up to respond,Hello!,Hello! their was no response. IT was at that time that we all notice that the phone was not plunged into the socket and we also remembered that
his service had been cut off also ,,,,,,,,,WE ALL LOVE UNCLE TYLER!
Mom's Hello From the Other Side
After my Mom died in 94 I was devastated and thought I would never see her again. I was wrong. It was 6 years after she had passed when I stayed home by myself all night long. It was about 9:00 p.m. when I decided to go to bed. I laid in bed when I heard footsteps. I got scared and called my grandma. She told me to try and sleep. So I did. As I went back into my room my music box began to play by it self. Then I looked at my bed and saw my Mom. I thought I was going crazy. She looked at me and said "Don't be afraid. Its not your fault. I will always be there for you." Then she disappeared. From that day on I never told anyone what I saw that night. But I still hear footsteps!
The Old Ladies
I guess that you would call this a divine intervention story, I am not exactly sure. My sister and I have always believed in the paranormal and she has always had a sixth since about things. I know that this may sound a little crazy but I will tell you anyway.
My father ran a Christian camp for the local Primitive Baptist churches and one night when we were children (we shared a bedroom) she got out of her bed in tears and woke me up to tell me that she had just been visited by two old ladies. They told her that they were sisters and that they had been
teachers in the early 1900's. They had never been married and that they always stayed at the old school. They told her that they were not there to hurt her, but that they were there to watch over us. She described everything to me, and swore that she was awake the whole time. She said they wore old dresses with the white aprons, and there hair was done in a bun, she couldn't make out any faces or exact features but she could definitely tell that they were woman.
We eventually found out that the Collaway's had settled in our community first, and that there were two old woman that were sisters and school teachers who had never married and always lived together a couple of miles from the school. We also found out that the Collaway's still live in that
same community. We were convinced that they were there. Our house was old and you could hear footsteps at night, and see shadows out the corner of your eye. You could hear doors slam, and we even thought we smelled bread baking one time. Nothing ever bothered us we just kind of got used to sitting around and the front door opening and nobody coming in. We moved from there 3 years ago and when we left all of this was still going on.
